When renovating property, contemporary brass finishings are as importrant as English Heritage paint colours and care should be taken to ensure that they are right. Anybody who has searched the worldwide web for 'brass' will quickly learn of the many Brass Bands we have in Britain ... and sadly, the lack of professional traditional craftsmen and forges, or brass foundries.

Backplate - Brass plate fitting between the doorknob and door.

Beading - Brass beading for edging and decoration. Gallery is similar.

Okay, it confirms that there is little synergy between retailers and manufacturers but although 'some' retailers have complained that "some manufacturers are not meeting the needs of their customers" ... what are the retailers doing about it - other than complaining?

It is difficult to believe that a serious furniture retailer will sit and wait for a manufacturer to change their ranges from conservative to contemporary, or dull to designer. Then what of designers?
